ArmoryRoster - My WoW Armory Roster Component for Joomla

ArmoryRoster is a component for joomla!™ (please be aware to download the right version for your CMS version, as there are 2 branches) the open source CMS.

It retrieves information about a World of Warcraft Guild from the Armory developed by Blizzard. This Armory offers all the information about each character as XML data. ArmoryRoster retrieves this data and prepares it to be displayable.

It saves the information as a serialized cache and only retrieves the information after a few number of days again. This number of days is configurable.

The Component offers 2 Views. One of which presents the roster (all your members on one page). The other presents an overview over all heroic keys of your members.

Many thanks go out to Dan Alloway, whose "MyArmory" component was the base for my development in terms of joomla!™ integration and installation.

08.10.2007: Using joomlacode.org

The project is now under joomlacode.org. This means that all downloads should be done from there, and that bugs / feature requests should be done there as well!

14.12.2007: Secured Feedback section!

After the feedback section / guestbook was suffering from A LOT OF SPAM, I decided to introduce a captcha. This should prevent us all from reading f****ng ads noone wants!

04.12.2008: Development stalling for a while!

Hi everyone, I know that some of you might be sighing when hearing this news, but I am quite disappointed right now. Blizzard changed the way, the armory displays data, respectively the data is available. General data, talents and reputation data can still be retrieved, but special data, likeprofessions and skills are only available to the all new statistics page. This page is working via javascript and ajax, and until now I couldn't find out, how to retrieve the necessary data. I always wanted to have the armoryroster be generally able to retrieve all data. For the future I might have to build a version, that only retrieves general data, if that is still wanted. It's a pity to have put such effort, and with one change everything is nearly wiped away. But I knew this before. I knew what I was putting effort into, and that Blizzard still has all the power to make me disappointed. If I find a way to retrieve the data ( meaning I will have time to investigate) I will build a new version. But until then, I will not work on the ArmoryRoster. Sorry Guys!
